SPIRITUAL
While the pro-life movement may have three branches, its roots could be considered spiritual. All our work in the educational, political, and pastoral realms must be guided and undergirded by prayer.
Some types of activism like 40 Days for Life and Life Chain focus on prayer.
Campaign Life Coalition maintains a list of 40 Days for Life vigil sites and Life Chain locations in Canada.
We urge you to consider how you can unite your faith with your pro-life efforts. Ask your pastor about life issues, and if he or she is pro-life, perhaps humbly request a pro-life homily or sermon. Consider becoming a pro-life representative for your church, responsible for informing your fellow congregants about upcoming pro-life events and opportunities. You can start by organizing a screening of ROE Canada! If there’s enough interest, you can even organize a pro-life committee within your church.
Groups like the Catholic Women’s League, Knights of Columbus, and Evangelical Fellowship of Canada have broader missions, but they are still engaged in pro-life activities too.
If your church isn’t supportive and you don’t have the ability to participate in public prayer campaigns, you can join an online prayer room for life.
Remember: God has already won this battle. Life defeats death. In the meantime, we must keep the faith.
