FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW ‘ROE CANADA’ TRAILER RELEASE AND MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR JOSIE LUETKE
When Kevin Dunn, producer and director of ROE Canada: The True North in a Post-Roe World, tapped
me last year to serve as one of the principal investigators for the film, I was doubtful.
Was there not someone more qualified than I? Someone more well-spoken? More likeable?
I was – and am – just an ordinary activist, but I suppose that’s sort of the point.
Since then, fellow principal investigator Ruth Robert and I have spent hours traveling the United States
and Canada. We’ve marched down the sunny streets of Washington, D.C., and have protested a visit of
our Prime Minister and his cabinet on a cold winter night. We’ve interviewed pro-life champions, both
ordinary activists whose names will never be widely known and the icons of the movement whose faces
will surely grace history books of the future.
Just a handful of these champions are featured in our newly released trailer.
This experience learning from these heroes and documenting our own journeys has been insightful.
Pro-life work isn’t easy, especially not in Canada. Consider the toll it exacts on one’s psyche—to
constantly be pleading with one’s neighbours, friends, and even family to oppose the killing of innocent
babies, but to be rebuffed all too often. There’s a persecution that accompanies this role as society’s
conscience, one that tends to be downplayed because it pales in comparison to abortion itself.
At the same time, there’s little work more honourable, more rewarding. If life is as inherently valuable
as we believe it to be, what better way to spend our own than seeking to spare others?
This is a film about and for an incredibly resilient and faithful pro-life movement—not merely a
congratulatory pat on the back, but a sincere exploration of how we move forwards.
In Canada, we’re operating in a legal vacuum, with zero protection for the preborn.
How can we build on the June 24 th Dobbs victory to propagate more victories like it? What are we doing
right, and what is yet to be done? How do we reopen a debate that the powers-that-be pronounce
closed?
While interviews have been completed at this time, there’s still more filming to do, as well as scripting,
editing, advertising, and distributing. We need to raise $150,000 for this project. Please visit
